Just what is a Simple Pleasure today?

Dayle's "Simple Pleasures" challenge on Thursdays results in such a wide variety of people, things, and events in lives of her blog followers.   Today, I woke up to the sound of wind and rain. One of my first pleasures was turning on the gas stove with its warm flames.  When I had to leave the house for an errand, I noticed my Painted Ponies collection on shelves near the front door.  I love these horses! There are only 13 in the collection, but I don't have any room for more right now. (Low light and no tripod....photo isn't very sharp!)    I grew up riding horseback but haven't ridden in nearly 25 years, and I miss it.  I'm at the age now where starting to ride again after all those years carries certain risks, so I'll probably just stand and watch in envy.  Meanwhile, I have my carousel horse collection and my Painted Ponies.

Evelyn, what charming painted ponies you have! It is truly a simple pleasure to admire the little collections acquired through the years, and to remember why we have them. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved everything about a carousel. When I see one and hear the music, I get warm fuzzies. I think your collection evokes that same feeling.

The middle one in your picture is my favorite. I think I would love to see them "in person". They're beautiful!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Rain outside and a fire inside. That sounds very cozy. We had rain here in GA today but it's still too warm for a fire.
What a nice collection you have! A real treasure.

your little painted horses are beautiful. I don't collect many things but if I did start...it would something like these.

There's something so wonderfully fascinating about the collections that people hold near and dear. Your painted carousel horses are absolutely beautiful, and what a cheerful accent they make! I LOVED horses when I was a little girl, but was never able to take riding lessons, I just admired from afar.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I've never thought about smooshing up avocado to spread on toast...and now I can't think of anything else! I think you may have inspired a new craving!
