All of the barns I've chosen for Barn Charm to this point have been rather sad, even dilapidated. However, this week, my choice of barns is a working barn, one that was repaired and painted when the young couple bought this farm for themselves and their four children. The man has his own construction company, so he renovated the old two-story farmhouse and spruced up the barn. I considered adding some texture and modifying the color, but the late afternoon sky was especially pretty that gray day. (Click for larger view)

Love the horses in the shot. The barn stands very proud amongst the bare winter trees. Lovely feel to the image.
This is in very good condition...great shot and love the horses in it.
I have to squint my eyes to see a cross, person, a horse then a star on the left side of the barn wall. I so love this one. Haven't seen like this and it's great!
Barn Charm
Beautiful beautiful beautiful! I'm sure it would have looked good w/ a texture, but it looks great without one...
It's truly a treat to see old barns spruced up & made workable again!!! =)
Thanks so much for joining in =)
This barn is so beautiful that I'm glad you didn't add texture or change it in any way. :)
A beautiful barn! It's good to see one that has been spruced up and given a new lease on life.
This is a wonderful entry for Barn Charm...I love red barns....actually love all barns.
Mine is here at my other blog: http://rose-treadway.blogspot.com/2011/02/repeated-for-barn-charm.html
I like your "Barn Charm" photo especially because it has animals in front of the barn! Nice red color barn! Fun to find another former English teacher's blog through Tricia's meme.
Warm regards from EAGAN daily photo in Minnesota
quite lovely and picturesque, complete with horses!
Funny, my Dad and are going barn hunting in the Midwest this spring. He researches historical barns and put together a map for us and everything. He asked me the other day if I wanted to take pictures of re-finished barns like yours or my usual aging, old structures. I said a mix of both this year!
