REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

Above the valley

It's Creative Exchange time again on Lisa Gordon's beautiful blog.  Every so often, I ask my husband to take me on a drive so I can find photo subjects.  Spring is late again this year, so there's not much color.  However, we drove a road that took us high above the huge Grande Ronde Valley and I found this colorful scene.  It's a planted field with the massive sprinkler system set up for use when the weather starts to dry up.

I especially like the perspective .... nearly eye-to-eye with the mountains on the other side of the valley down below.  Behind me, Mt. Harris is more than 5000 feet in elevation.    ( A bird seems to be enjoying the view, as well.)

Love the mountains, they are so big. I think we have one "real" mountain in this country and even that is little one compare to that.

At first I thought these were old-fashioned bicycle wheels! When I saw the scale of the background, I figured out what they were. I just love this shot, especially the mountains. Great colors and nice composition. Denise B.

It's a wonderfully spacious view. I love the mountains in the background. I've been thinking of coming out to Portland to look for a sublet and see if I'd like to live in the area. The PNW has a beauty all its own.

This is a wonderful shot -- I love the lines and contrast with the mountains. Isn't it fun to go on photo outings? My husband takes me to the vineyards, where he tastes wine and I take photos.:)

The repetition (and juxtaposition) of the wheels against those majestic mountains is fantastic! The green foreground sets it all off perfectly.
