REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

Individuality isn't my thing....

Lisa explored the subject of individuality on Creative Exchange today----along with another of her fabulous floral images.   I've been aware for years that I am not terribly "individual" about anything!   I have generally attributed it to being the oldest child of five.  (I have to blame it on something!)   As a high school teacher for 34 years, I attempted to look "professional" almost all the time.  Even when women teachers were wearing pants, I didn't.  If my students saw me in jeans at a sports event, they commented in surprise.  "Mrs. Spikes! You're wearing pants!"   In my retirement, I wear jeans every day and I even wear dress pants to church---something I never dreamed of doing even 10 years ago.    I think Lisa will love wearing jeans the final three weeks of the spring semester, and I think her students will be delighted.

My photo today is one I took yesterday, the first sunny day after weeks of gray skies and days of heavy rain.   My lilacs are budding--not the flowers, but the bushes.   I'm delighted.

Processed with "Serendipity" texture from Kim Klassen

Evelyn, your lilacs are right about where mine are now. I actually tried to photograph them yesterday, but we had the remnants of the tornadoes that have plagued the south, so between the wind and the rain, it was not meant to be.

Thank you for your kind words, and for sharing this today at The Creative Exchange. It is a beautiful photograph, and I love the work you did on it.

Have a wonderful day.

lisa.

It's beautiful -- the light is lovely and the way you've processed it gives a lot of depth to the image. I love it.

That is beautiful and kind of romantic. Yesterday was so sunny and quite warm but today is cold and very windy, but first crocuses has come up:)

Kin’s Serendipity worked beautifully with this shot. Gorgeous image. I know you are really happy with the way it worked out so nicely. Kim has added so much to all of our photography. She is a wonderful person and fabulous teacher. This is an awesome capture.
