Struggling to find color

Lisa has wonderful macro shots of the early spring buds in her world----also a location with a late spring.  I'm linking up with her Creative Exchange again this Monday.

I know the grass is growing, and it's green; the daffodils and other early bulbs are starting to bloom, but that is about it around here!  We had two sunny days and then the gray moved back in on Easter Sunday.    My husband, mother-in-law and I took a drive high up a mountain road to look back on the huge Grande Ronde Valley, but I kept looking for color in addition to the greening fields below---something I could photograph.  There were buttercups and this yellow weed I can't identify right now.   So it's green or yellow.  Those were my choices.

An odd stand of seemingly dead trees from high above

The Blue Mountains across the valley, along the western edge

I'm so sorry Evelyn - I do hope spring with all its wonderful colours will come to you soon! The view is fantastic - even on a grey day!

Your world sounds a bit like ours, Evelyn. Just a few glimpses of yellow, pink and red (daffodils and tulips.)

But it will likely warm up one of these days for good and things will start to pop. :)

Hiya,
Good, I get to see your environs.
That wide meandering river and the real mountains in the background. What a majestic landscape it is. Even without colour at the moment.

Beautiful captures, Evelyn!
Spring is definitely slow finding us in the PNW this year.
But with all this rain our flowers will burst with color, when they finally wake from their winter's sleep.

It is taking an awfully long time Evelyn. Based on some photos I took of the same magnolia tree last year, we are a little more that 3 weeks behind where we were last year.

I love the photos you posted here, especially the first one, and the fourth one. It looks like you could see for miles in that one. Beautifully done!

Thank you so much for sharing these today at The Creative Exchange.

Have a wonderful evening!

lisa.
