REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

Memory of New York

Lisa's Creative Exchange posts of the "solitary" images she recorded on her recent trip to NYC had me nodding my head: I love to take that kind of photograph, too.  I have a few from my first trip to New York more than a year ago, but I chose a different one because it was my dream image BEFORE we made the trip.  It's the Mall in Central Park, so often seen in various movies set in New York City.    It was April when we visited, so all the trees weren't leafed out yet.  But there was no mistaking the scene.

Like Lisa, I found some not-so-ordinary photo subjects, too.

Looks like a wonderful place to go for a walk.
Nice shot of the discarded stuff.

Both so different, but in a way, both are about being alone with one's self....what do we do with it. Love both shots.

The framing of the people by the trees is awesome! Also, the scale of the people really show off how tall those trees are! Love it.

I love both of these shots Evelyn!
Two totally different perspectives, two totally different feelings. One thing for sure, there is never a lack of "stuff" in doorways in NYC to photograph! :-)

Thank you so much for sharing this today at The Creative Exchange.

Have a fantastic day!

lisa.

I think you did a fantastic job of capturing the scene in central park. that looks like a wide wide path, and never having been there it's hard for me to imagine walking it. I love how you photographed it. and I also like the more intimate photo of the ground objects. very nice Evelyn. that header image is rockin' too. happy monday to you.

Yes, I do recognize that scene! I'm not sure which movies, but I have seen it several times. Maybe "When Harry Met Sally" might be one. Just lovely!

I love the park picture and it is better there that trees are not in full leaves. Blacks against little green are such a great contrast and gives so much more depth to it.

I've never been to Central Park - or NYC. Now I don't have to, as you've shown it to me! Wonderful images Evelyn!

Perhaps you can make a fall trip when the leaves are turning. :)
