Fall is coming fast, and I'm afraid it might not be pretty this year. We've had one period of maybe-measurable rain in almost 3 months, so the foliage is really dry. I have only a few sunflowers blooming....and there are buds on my "special" Asiatic lilies that I planted in May! Hopefully, the frost will hold off a little longer. But while waiting for our car to go through a car wash recently, I wandered to the row of rose bushes planted alongside the building. This beautiful almost-iridescent orange rose was blooming as if it were late June instead of mid-September. I'm linking with Lisa's wonderful Creative Exchange....maybe my last for a while, since I'm having hip-replacement surgery on Tuesday. I'm counting on a speedy recovery, but I'm not sure exactly what that means.
