Late Bloomer

Tree peonies (paeonia lutea)  are odd creatures, at least in my mother's peony garden.  They take years to flower, and then they bloom in the fall---as a pleasant surprise.    Beautiful texture for Texture Thursday.

Those textures go really well with that peony! I've never heard of a tree peony. Does that mean it grows on trees? Sorry if that's a dumb question. :/

it's so delicate and beautiful, you've captured that so well here and the texture adds to it perfectly.

This is such a happy image, Evelyn! I've heard of tree peonies, but never seen one either! Love the way the text of the textures adds some interest to the negative space.
