Almost Black and White

Lisa writes of her "seasonal"  interest in black and white photography and her most recent forays into it in this week's Creative Exchange post.   I, too, am fascinated with black and white, but I rarely create such a photograph.   I love color!   Currently, however, I am surrounded by a drab, colorless world in January.  The colors of summer and fall are long gone, but there is no snow, either.  It's bare and blah.     So I converted a bright yellow (birthday)  Gerbera daisy to an almost-black-and-white image.

Its beautiful, Eveyln. And the funnies thing is, I, too was in a black and white mood - so my photo for CE this week is also b&w.

Happy Monday to you. :)

I hope you're really with this photo and edit because it's an absolute pleasure from a viewer's point of view to look at - amazing and motivational.

I love the sepia tone you've given your gerbera, it looks very vintage :) soon, there'll be colour again!

I LOVE this Evelyn, and I cannot imagine liking it better in color. So much detail here, and the white is wonderful!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU DEAR FRIEND!!!

Thank you so very much for sharing with us at The Creative Exchange this week.

Have a wonderful day!

Very pretty in these tones -- almost sepia.

almost melancholy tones, but lovely too.

I really like this Black and white. The yellowish ting gives it a vintage feel. Lovely composition, too!

You did well, I would not have known it was yellow to begin with

I like the fact that your photo is not quite black and white. Your enhancement gives it a vintage feel.

I think you nailed this image, Evelyn! The b&w really works but the crop does it for me. :)

I love the vintage tones - it's so hard for me to do a black and white on flowers! Unless the flower is white, that is ;-)

I think your conversion is absolutely gorgeous, and I would not change it back to color. There is something so romantic about the picture. It is one that will stick in my mind for a good while to come. genie
