A Barn Close to Home

I live in a town rural enough to have some barns within the city limits.   Today I took a morning walk in our snowy landscape (the first snow since November) and walked right past this old structure.  It's only 4 blocks from my front door, and I'm certain that it's not used anymore. (It is red only on the protected side; the weather has taken the paint off the back and side.)    I'm linking up with Tricia's wonderful Barn Charm this week.

Nice contrast between the barn and the snow. I also like the repetition of the white of the snow in the white paint around the doors!

Looks like you finally got some real snow, Evelyn! I'm still waiting for snow that sticks :~)

Too bad it's not used, looks to be in pretty good shape. Love the antlers!

Delightful old barn! The best photo subjects are often close to home, but they are easy to overlook because of familiarity.

What a neat barn! I'm glad you spotted it - and glad you braved the snow to walk outside and photograph it!

Evelyn, what a gorgeous little barn! Beautiful really. And you've got snow!!! That has actually stuck to the ground! So you can walk in it and take beautiful photographs - as in the case of the barn here. How nice. :) I am envious. ;)

Loe the simplicity of the shot and the striking red against the white.

I bet this barn has lots of stories to tell. I love its uniqueness. Everything about it I like. genie

The barns in Australia are totally different but the stories behind them would be very interesting.
