REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

Summer flowers in winter

I'm buying myself flowers at the grocery store again.....then I spend considerable time photographing them.  I never spend much because I really don't feel I can justify parting with too much "moolah" each week just to use the flowers as photographic subjects.  My husband and I were in "town" to do some bed shopping with a stop at a brew pub for lunch afterwards.  I then asked him to take a walk around two of the city blocks (in the cold)  so I could photograph "something."   Later, I unintentionally deleted every one of the 38 photos when I didn't understand what I was doing in Picasa! (I use Picasa rarely, and I wanted to delete the photos files there.  I didn't know they would be deleted from Windows Photos as well.  duh!)     So, back to the rose photos of the day before.  This is my choice for The Creative Exchange this week.

That's a beautiful photo, Evelyn! I love the colors. Too bad about your other shots. I would've been pretty darn crabby if that would've happened to me and with my luck, it would've :)

What a gorgeous rose. I agree that seeing flowers around the home at this time of the year is a real joy! At the moment, I have several pots of bulbs coming into bloom in colourful pots.

wel your rose photo is beautiful Evelyn; your mishap with Picasa is pretty much in line with going to take the best shot opportunity and finding the battery is flat

Picasa does act strangely at times -- I rarely use it myself.

I think buying a bouquet once a week during winter is a nice thing to do for oneself. Difficult to leave all that beauty behind at the store!

Lovely soft focus, Evelyn. The color of this rose is so unique as well. :)

I am sorry about your photos Evelyn. The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I was downloading from my camera. I still cannot figure out what I did, but indeed they went missing!

This is an absolutely GORGEOUS rose and photograph. I love the color and wonderful softness.

Thank you so much for sharing with us this week at The Creative Exchange.

Have a fantastic day!

Beautiful rose, Evelyn. :) Roses, the kind that aren't grown in hot houses, smell divine. The softness and beautiful colors of yours bring to mind just that. On another note . . . Grrrr... on the having lost your cold-walk photos! I have done that before and it really upset me. I guess your little beauty of a rose here was meant to posted today. Happy Monday! :)

Hi Evelyn,
So sorry to hear about your photo mishap. That would be very discouraging. I think I would go out and buy some roses to feel better - sound good?
This rose is stunning! The color and soft focus draw me in.
Have a great week and remember to go get those roses:)

Grrrr, don't you hate when you make a mistake like that? Picasa is a little weird that way which is why I stick with Lightroom and PS for editing and archiving. Still, your plan B worked very well. The colors are fantastic and the soft focus makes this look so dreamy.
