REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

Abstract Photo Art?...maybe.

When I start playing with a photo to create a piece for Photo Art Friday, I'm never certain where it's going.  One of the options Bonnie suggested for this week's Photo Art was abstract art.   I'm not sure that I achieved that, but I like it.  And one of the great things about Bonnie's meme is that we can really create any kind of photo art.

Beginning with this pretty rose image, I applied the Pointillize Pixelate Filter and de-saturated the image slightly (-44).  After flattening the layers, I added the PDPA Berry Merry Xmas texture in Vivid Light at 100%.  I flattened the layers once more and then followed the "recipe" for the Orton effect.

Not sure what some of those filters and Orton Effect are, but this turned out just lovely. Isn't it amazing all of the things that you can do with these photos, and each time.... totally different. Love this! Be sure that you stop by my blog and get in on the Giveaway! Very lovely Textures that Bonnie is offering on this. Announcement of the winner will be March 15th. Have a wonderful day!

I'm not sure it's technically an abstract if that's what you were aiming for. What it is, is really pretty. Soft and romantic, the softened rose in the background is identifiable (thus not abstract) and the texturizing is so interesting. I love this texture of Bonnie's but have never figured out how to use it - now I see. This is beautiful, almost a little Asian in feeling.

Soft and dreamy - yet vibrant at the same time! Love your editing choices Evelyn. Thank you for sharing this piece of art with Photo Art Friday!

While not totally "abstract" in an abstract way (does that make sense)your piece is stunning. I love the soft feel you've given the rose and that texture is perfect. I wouldn't have thought to have used it the way you have. I can see why you like it, I know I do.
