This door knob is on the door of a very old rural schoolhouse (1886-1937) in NE Oregon. It's used to store hay now. (edited with kkOhMy) Linking up with Texture Tuesday's Watercolor Edition.
Jumped over from Kim's Texture Tuesday to tell you how much I love this image. Don't know what it is about cracked and peeling paint that draws me. Anything vintage and shabby is heaven to me. lol
you know what? this is my fave photo of the day. I love everything about it. it's fabulous. I think it would look very nice on my wall. :) I'm still getting used to my phone, but I'm having a lot of fun with the camera apps. There are many camera apps similar to Hipstamatic, etc. - so do take some time to check out what's available as an alternative. I thought I wanted the iPhone, and then when I did a bit of research, I realized that I could get just about everything I was looking for app-wise for half the price. (I would have been paying mostly for the BRAND). I know the Apple brand is pretty seductive though...but I just didn't want to take the bite after all. Even this phone is too much phone for me! Happy day to you Evelyn.

Love it!
Fantastic find, love the the peeled paint texture. Great texture work, very sympathetic to the subject.
Oh, I love this! It makes you wonder about all the years of life that came in and out of that door. The "oh my" texture looks great on the image, too.
nice find and photo.
Lovely shot! I love the cracked and peeling paint.
fabulous!
Very cool shot! I like the antique door with all the cracked paint...super fun! Kim's texture also added an aged look to the photo. I like it!
I do love peeling, cracked paint! And the texture gives such a lovely softness to it all.
I wonder if the door will hold when the knob is turned, looks as if it will come off in ones hands
Amazing! The beauty in simple things.
Peace!

Very nice edit and great old doorknob! :)
Such a great subject. The cracked and flaking paint layers creates a story of all those years of use. The subtle editing works perfectly.
Great light vintage! Sounds like a lovely place to photograph. Love the subtle, rusty part in it. (Marleen - Beyond LayersII)

Love the old backplate -- so much character! :)
PS -- our black locust tree blooms are white too, but they look blue in my photo. Not sure why.
This is fantastic. The peeling paint is really interesting and I love the subtle touch of color and texture.
I have a fetish for old doors and windows. This one is a keeper. Love the chippy paint with the bit of color or rust.
Hugs,
