A Charming Round Barn

I've photographed and posted an octagonal barn, but this is a true round barn, and it's my most recent barn photo. The farm is located on a private lane, so I had to use a telephoto lens for the photo.   I'm rejoining Tricia's Barn Charm after a short absence. (The zoom lens pulls the mountains in the background much closer than they really are.)

Wow! I've not seen anything like it! I certainly don't know of any in this part of Ohio.
Why round? And why that small window at the top? Perplexing. Fascinating. Beautiful in a unique way. Great share!:>)

Loving that barn. There is a round one I know about here, or at least I think it is round and not octagon. I need to take a ride out there, but I don't think it is as nice as this one. Nice find!

I think there is only one round barn in the state of Ohio. I assume it is still up and not torn down. I like the round barns but they are as scarce as hen's teeth.

I agree Evelyn, it is charming! And unusual is this north of Joseph? Seems I remember seeing one there...

Oh, I do love this Evelyn!
It is so rare to see one like this, and I would love to see the inside.
Do you know if there is an actual reason for making a round barn?

That second photo is like a painting! Outstanding!

Now I can say I've seen a round barn. That is most unusual. Wonder how they curved the boards to build the walls?

Mercy sakes alive, that's gorgeous, Evelyn! Love the round barn, the fencing, and not to forget those beautiful, beautiful mountains!

Thank you =)

oh my that barn is beautiful. There are several round barns in the area where I once lived in S.W. Wisconsin, all built by the same man. (Algie Shivers - a freed slave who moved to the area). They have a lot of history associated with them, and I love them. This one looks to be in pretty good shape. Many that I see are in a state of disrepair, and that's sad. Your photos are superb. happy day to you Evelyn.

Very nice! Which town is this in? I've seen a round barn in CA, but not in OR

What a happy surprise! Did you just run across this original by accident? The only actual round barn that I've been in is a copy of Thomas Jefferson's original at Montecello.

Your new blog header is such a wonderful composition-love the subject choice--so restrained. Well done.

You use a telephoto lens for the photo.

You are a paparazzi.

First off, it is a beautiful photo. Second, they are rare and there's a fair bit of history. Check it out... barn lovers! :)
