REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

The "Town" Deer

Omigosh...it was almost dark and I didn't have a new "rural" image for Rural Thursday!  (My husband suggested I photograph the chickens which inhabit half of the big yard of the neighbors behind us.)  I grabbed one of my cameras and got into the car.   I had seen a small herd of sheep across from the community center ... evidently, they are hired "weed eaters" for the property owner, who was cited for tall grass in her empty lot last year. However, the chain link fence around the property was too high and the sheep soon lost interest in me.  So I drove to the edge of town, where hay fields border the residential area.  And there they were....town deer.  For once, they were not in people's gardens, but were bedded down in the tall grass, mule ears alert. (I chose a grungy edit because the deer are shedding winter coats and they look pretty ragged.)

They are so pretty. The sheep sound interesting too. I'd like to see that sometime. Out here they use goats.

LOL... I can't believe you drove out just to get pictures for Rural Thursday. That is dedication.

I can see the deer looking at you taking their picture. They don't seem a bit afraid.

Love those shots and your processing! Sorry I been so quiet these last couple weeks, I’ve been really ill (now finally diagnosed with Whooping Cough even though I was immunized) and have had another very rough week.
