Peonies are Blooming!
Finally, my favorite "early" perennials are blooming. I have around 20 different peonies, all from my mother's huge peony garden. (She told me that she thinks she already has 100 blooming.) The rain is so hard on the blossoms, but I'm counting on some pleasant weather for a change! I think this is a good choice for Nancy's Your Sunday Best...here on Saturday!

whenever I see a peony I just want to sink my nose into the center. my own are long past flowering now, so I'm happy you've shared your beautiful blossoms - they remind me of tutus! happy weekend to you Evelyn.

I live in a condo, so I don't have a garden, but I treat myself to one or two bunches of peonies every year from my local Farmer's Market. I hope the weather is nice tomorrow so I can walk over!

Can you smell them a mile away? They're beautiful! Mom's are all dead & gone, now... =( I wish they lasted all year long... I love the smell of them! =))
I know! Beautiful, Evelyn! I first noticed them at Trader Joe's just this past week, while there picking up milk and what-not. Sooo pretty! And they bloom so large! Have fun photographing them, from what I understand they aren't in season all that long. Shame really, as they are so lovely. :) xo
Peonies are such a pretty photography subject. Well captured. I think I like the one in the upper right corner with the spiky petals. Kinda sassy. :)

I think it would be wonderful to have a peony garden. They are one flower that is on my "grandma flowers" list because they remind me of her.
