Grass beside the road

It's Rural Thursday again, and I went looking for the "right" image.  I found it on a walk this morning (9 a.m. is too late for walking when the temperature hits 99 degrees by mid-afternoon!)....it was growing "in the ditch" at the side of the country road.   I can't identify it, but it's pretty!

I know what your talking about when your talking about the heat. It's been way to hot here to even go out taking shots. This morning it was 95 by 8:30am! Great shot by the way.

I think, stress think, that I've seen these before, in Miama, South Beach to be exact .. when they're in full bloom they look like an ear of corn .. or maybe these are a distant cousin

Oh that is pretty, it almost glows. I know how you feel, I start my walk each morning at 7:15 am.

Your image is lovely. I love the texture.

I am trying to acclimate to being in heat, since I am going to Yosemite in August, where it will get into the 90's. It's really hard going...I'm only up to dealing with the 80's.

Beautiful shot of the grass! I was out taking photos of grass myself and didn't even think to upload them to this meme. Ha! Maybe next week. :)
