I can't believe that I've lived in our little town since the spring of 1976...in the same house since 1978...and I had never been to the top of Mt. Emily. In some long-ago blog post, I explained that the Grande Ronde Valley is supposed to be the second-largest valley enclosed by mountains---in the world. I know Mt. Harris, 5000+ feet on the NE side and Mt. Emily, 6000+ feet on the SE side. I've been high up on Mt. Harris, but not near the top. Until last Sunday afternoon, I hadn't been on Mt. Emily. What a view! I'm linking up with Nancy's
Rural Thursday Blog Hop.

My first view of the Grande Ronde Valley from Mt. Emily (my home is in a smaller neighboring valley across one of the hills in the upper center of the photo.)

My husband stands where I would never venture....high on Indian Rock, an obviously volcanic rock formation, approximately a mile above sea level.

Nice! You live in the most gorgeous place! I tell you I miss Oregon sometimes so much that I almost ache. Not so much the rainy part of Oregon, but Eastern Oregon. Ohhhh... LOVELY there!!!
Beautiful photographs, Evelyn. I've missed reading your blog. xo
By the way, I wouldn't venture out to where your hubby is standing either. Yikes! But it sure is awesomely beautiful. :)
These are gorgeous views. No way would I stand where your hubby is but it makes for a great photo. The valley below reminds me of a patchwork quilt.
