REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

Too Busy

This week has been very busy for me....the retired one who is supposed to have all this free time! Babysitting a little one for two days, taking my mother-in-law to the doctor and then driving 40 miles round-trip to get her prescriptions, driving to visit my mother and taking her to have her hair done, BBQ with relatives of husband who are in town for the centennial celebration of our local Opera House.  (For three years, I've been dealing with the restoration project in terms of writing grants, etc.....and will attend the gala this afternoon.) I haven't visited blogs as I try to do, but I am determined to keep up with my photo posts.

These are weeds...rust-colored seedheads in a dry landscape on a hill above the valley where our town sits. I'm linking up with Your Sunday Best and  Weekly Top Shot.   (And now I have to get dressed for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of the newly restored grande dame Opera House..... almost four years and $860,000 later.  The old beauty is ready for another 100 years.....already in the middle of 3 weeks of "Fiddler on the Roof." Not bad for a population of 1700, and a small but active group of volunteers.)

Beautiful photo with lovely golden tones. Nice framed edge as well.

The Opera House restoration is impressive from a financial standpoint, considering the small population. You'll have to share pics!

Love the golden tones and that's a mighty impressive feat for a small town. Best wishes for a successful run at another 100 years.

Seems to me you're handling it all just fine. Mind you, when things settle down a bit, you might be a little tired.

Beautiful image! The background is quite fascinating.

I understand what you mean about being busy -that's why they call us the "sandwich generation" :)

Evelyn, you need to go back to work so you can have some "free" time. LOL!

Gorgeous shot! Love the bokeh. What lens? Was it perhaps by chance that 85mm?
