From Summer to Fall...overnight
I had a late-summer image of dry weeds that I was going to use for Rural Thursday this week, but an experience this morning changed my mind. The nights have been chilly lately, but the days continued in the 70's and even 80's---until today. The temperature dropped into the 20's last night, and it was 28 at 8 this morning. My niece, who drives 20 miles to her job at the state university, texted me at 7:30 to say there was a photo opportunity at harvested fields south of town: ice on the big sprinklers, with the sun coming up behind them. I put on sweat pants and a sweatshirt, grabbed my camera and drove out the highway, ignoring my "bedhair." Cars were buzzing by on the way to various places of employment, but I ignored them, and I was able to get some great icy images. (When I finished, I was grateful for the heated seats in my car!)

What a great opportunity! I know you were thrilled that your niece called you. She sure knew how wonderful this would be.
That second one is my favorite!
Wonderful light, - magnificent shots!
Wow! These are great! You don't see that very often. So glad your niece called you about this great photo opportunity.
Oh my goodness, Oh my dear! When the seasons go from hot to cold - I tend to not adjust well. Spring is my season... cold to warm suits me better. Awesome photos you got!!!
Oh how pretty! I hope this doesn't mean trouble for the farmers though!
love the first two shots!
Oh my gosh!! These photos are just the best!!! I am unsure if I would have braved the cold as you did ;) ... as we still have temps in the 90's it is hard to imagine freezing temps already in other places...brrrrr.
Wow! So glad your niece texted you ~ These are so creative and wonderful shots! ~ (A Creative Harbor)

Those are pretty darn cool photos. We see things like that from time to time, but unfortunately we see them when we are some of those folks hurrying into town for work/school, so the opportunity to stop and photograph is not there. Lucky you! And a special thanks to your niece for the heads up.
and here its suddenly summer again .. tho by Monday we will have real fall temps . sigh

Hello Evelyn,
I am discovering your blog and I really enjoy the softness felt through your photography. In particular, the first 2 photos of "from summer to fall over night" are amazing. A nice setting to play with graphic, lines, perspective. Nice work.
I also enjoy photography and landscapes. If you are interested my blog is http://awenaphoto.blogspot.fr
Bye for now.
These are awesome shots, Evelyn.
