Leaves for Flowers

The flowers are gone--or at least, they are shriveled to ugliness after three straight nights of temperatures in the 20's.  Generally, we would have pretty leaves now, but we haven't had moisture since July, and the leaves are shriveling and dropping.   However, I did find some color on lilac bushes in the cemetery, and the afternoon sun was perfect.    I'm linking up with Nancy's Your Sunday Best and Madge's Weekly Top Shot.

Beautiful light on these leaves, Evelyn! We're still waiting for our first cold snap; think I'll be waiting a while. Sigh.

The drought actually made our fall colors more spectacular than usual.

Glad you found some Ev. Beautiful image. xo

So sorry your drought was so severe. As little rain as we got, we got enough for colorful foliage. As is usually the case, when the colors begin to peak the rain never ceases. 10 days and counting.

I'm so glad you found some bright foliage on your lilac.

We are in the same boat. I was noticing this morning, that due to the lack of rain, the flowers just seems to all have shriveled and dried up do to the weekend frost..

Thank you SO much for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #51… I’m sorry that I am very late coming by to visit your entry. But I have been fighting being sick all week, trying to fend off a virus and haven’t been doing much besides working and sleeping.. I do hope you’ll forgive me and come by tomorrow to share on Weekly Top Shot’s 1st Anniversary!
