Getting that photo I've always wanted

In yesterday's post, I featured an image of some of the trees in the 28,000 acre poplar plantation in NE Oregon.  It's an image that I've wanted to capture for a long time---even years.   The fact that the plantation is alongside the freeway has generally been a deterrent.   No longer!   In a trip across the state with my sister, I was the driver.   On the trip west, I declared I was going to photograph the trees on the way back; the next day, I did just that, pulling off the freeway and getting out into the foggy cold to capture some images with my 70-250mm lens.  From inside the car, my sister recorded me with her phone camera.  It was my second of three "photo stops" along the freeway, and I'm so glad I did it.

Good going. We often have to make stops for pictures - Don is pretty good at getting the car situated safely so I can get "the shot". Best to be cautious - but I know the feeling of wanting one more shot - and I loved the trees yesterday.

I have driven by that stand of trees for years. I looks so strange that stand of trees in the middle of nothing.

Fearless you are! I love it. Sometimes you just gotta break the law. :)

Well done! I think part of this photography thing is taking on the challenges and, when we succeed and get that one shot, it is such a great feeling. Now you can move on to the next challenge on your list! And it was a wonderful photo!

I know that feeling of wanting to get that shot, but nervous about taking the risk to get it! My husband is always telling me to be careful when I am out alone, but he is always willing to pull over whenever we are together. It's always better when someone is with you. That shot was worth it - very intriguing! xx
