Sunny but Cold!

Since our last snow a couple of weeks ago, the skies have been clear.  The sun even shines.  But it's been cold....not always-below-zero-cold as we experience two or three winters ago, but below freezing 24 hours a day, day after day.   In my home valley, just 25 miles from here, the temperatures have gone to below zero.  Yesterday, I went to take my mother on one of our drives.  I wanted to see the wintry landscape.  It was 18 degrees when I left, but just 7 as I neared my old home.  Here are some of the cold images.

The glistening "diamonds" of frost don't show up in the photo

Beautiful Wallowa Lake

The ducks were swimming with chunks of ice

The barefoot garden girl in bronze is standing in snow in Joseph, Oregon

"Attitude Adjustment" is the title of this cowboy and horse...one
of my favorite bronzes lining  the main street of Joseph
.there's snow on  his hat and on the other side of the horse

Once again, TexWis stole my comment! LOL The blues and whites are breathtaking here. I'd love to have something like this to photograph around here. Bet it's hard to snap away when it's this cold, tho!

I can hardly feel the cold Evelyn from here but I LOVE the photographs you took on your drive. I'm sure your Mum enjoyed it a lot too. The scenery is superb bedecked in snow. You might like to warm up with a check-in to my latest blog post :)
