Culverts are pretty standard items under country roads, generally corrugated metal that's very utilitarian in nature: allowing a stream of water to run under a road. This particular one at the edge of the town where I live is unusual in that it features stonework. I believe it's one-of-a-kind for this area.
This is my choice this week for Kent Weakley's Project 52 (and Sweet Shot Tuesday).

The stone is so much more attractive than those regular dirt ones!
makes for a pretty shot.
It really is pretty with all that stonework. :)
Great photos - and lovely rock work.
Neat perspective , Evelyn, and the culvert makes a wonderful natural frame!
A lot of work went into that wall of stone
A great shot looking through to the other side.
a lovely shot 'framed' perfectly
Much nicer than the concrete ones around here!
I think it's great that you've taken something as simple as a culvert and made it into such a creative shot.
Indeed -- quite unusual!
Superb composition.
