Each week, as Kent Weakley's Sweet Shot Tuesday and Project52 draws near, I think about an image I want to see published in the book I order at the end of every year. I'm not a landscape photographer, but I experienced some amazing valley landscapes on a Sunday afternoon drive in the mountains. These landscapes were viewed from a mile-high vantage point in the Blue Mountains near my home in NE Oregon. Although my husband and I were concentrating on the valley to our east, this is a scene from the west, where deep canyons are carved in the mountains. There were rain clouds everywhere, causing shadows to move across the landscape. I loved how the sun was lighting this knoll, contrasting with the dark evergreens and blue mountains.
