Hoar Frost

Along a 15-mile portion of Oregon Highway 82 through the Wallowa River Canyon, there are "pockets" of hoar frost....areas where the sun obviously never reaches during the day.  It's beautiful!  We haven't had snow or rain, but the hoar frost is dew that has frozen on objects.  I stopped as often as there were wide enough places to park temporarily.  The Wallowa River is behind all the frosty foliage.

Very pretty. It does look magical but also very cold.
