I often take drives to find subjects for photos; I seem to have more luck during the warm weather. Our winter has been dreary...very little snow, followed by rain and freezing temperatures. Recently, I took a back road home from an appointment. There seemed to be nothing that caught my eye, until I saw this white field at the base of the tree-covered Mt. Emily. I almost drove past, but stopped and backed up to shoot several images. I like the contrast of the deciduous tree with all those branches, bleached and bare. Behind, the line of green pines and firs, just in front of the blue mountain. (The mountains in our part of the country are named the Blue Mountains.)

Has a lonely feel to it -- solemn, contemplative. Beautiful!
I thought this was a painting, Evelyn!
It is absolutely gorgeous.
Looks like a professional postcard, Evelyn! Great editing.
It really is beautiful. And I love it for all the same reasons as you. :)

Lovely contrasts! I'm glad you backed up! :)

Well worth stopping. You have a good eye. I love the pop of the bare white branches against the green and blues.
