In Memory of Ellie

On  May 1, my niece Ellie Jolene passed away on her 38th birthday.  She had been ill for several months, but basically had not been really well for two or three years.  I lived with her parents (her mother is my youngest sister) for a few months in 1976 when I first began teaching here; I went with them to the hospital the night she was born. She was 3 1/2 years older than our eldest son, and she and her two younger sisters and our two boys grew up together.  Years later, when Ellie had two daughters of her own, I often took care of them, beginning a generation of great-nieces that has grown to a total of 5.
