Texture Tuesday {Clouds and Wind Turbines}

Each Monday night, I post two photos---one for my Project 52 and one for Texture Tuesday.  This week, my choices are both landscapes, generally rare choices for me.   This photo for Kim's Texture Tuesday was shot from the window of a moving car with a 70-250 mm lens when my husband and I were returning from a day across the Washington border in the SE corner of that state.  Thunderstorms had been building up all around, and the clouds were absolutely beautiful.   Add to the clouds a "wind farm" in the distance, with those gigantic turbines that now dot so many of the dry hills of Oregon and Washington. (Click to enlarge image.)

What a gorgeous shot! Love the perspective if the massive sky and the small looking windmills, though up close they are huge!

Beautiful fluffy, cottony clouds. They really dwarf the windmills below.

Lovely clouds and texture...I have to say the windfarms ruin the view. :(

It's rare that I use texture in a landscape but this is lovely!

such a beautiful landscape image, evelyn! love each layer of the clouds as they graduate from the top downward to the ground, the tones are wonderful, and your processing is, too! wish we had more 'big sky' country around here! dropping in by way of kim's linkup.
