Insignificant Beauty

Anemones don't grow in this part of the country; at least, I've never seen one.  However, I bought some cheap anemone bulbs in early spring and planted them when it started to warm up.  I didn't have any expectations.  One day, green foliage started working through the soil of the little wooden planter.  Later in the summer, little white flowers began to show up, but most were hardly enough to be called a flower.  One did look like an anemone, but that was it.   Last week, however, a purple flower appeared, and it developed into a beautifully shaped anemone blossom.   I played with my 50mm macro lens to see what aspects I could capture.

The deep color is gorgeous. Love the editing in the second shot.

I just love these flowers, Evelyn, and these photographs of your purple one are so beautiful. I too bought some bulbs this year, and although I got far fewer than I expected/hoped for, they were really wonderful.

How neat that you actually got one to grow. The ones I had all died after the first year that they came up. Winter is hard on them. - Loving that 2nd edit, it's dreamy looking.
