REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

It's called Mud Volleyball

"Muddy With a Mission" was the theme of the first charity mud volleyball tournament in our little town.  13 teams paid to participate in an all-day tournament held in a rodeo arena that had been watered down by the local fire department.  Beneficiaries of the money raised by the event were food banks in four counties.  I photographed the 11-hour event, deciding early that going barefoot was the best option. My right ankle is still puffy and stiff.    If you don't like the idea of dirt and mud....don't look at the photos!

Matches started at 8 a.m....people were clean

The fire department visited 3 times during the day

Duct tape held shoes on

Our local rodeo queen...senior in high school

Muddy Mikey's mother (earlier post)

Makeshift showers were available between matches

Victory Mud Slide for Champs

The Filthy Vermin won the day
(Teams are already pre-registering for next year's event.)

Lordy, what a mess! If I was involved in that I think I'd just figure on throwing away my clothes and shoes afterwards. Yikes!

Well that gives new meaning to the term: Down and Dirty huh? - What an interesting competition. Can't say I'd participate but I'd watch it if I had the chance.
