I have NEVER been able to take a photo of the moon that looked like the moon! Saturday night, my brother-in-law texted me to ask if I had seen the moon, so I went outside. It was one night after a full moon, and it didn't seem especially large or anything, plus I'm always dealing with utility lines because I live in town. My first three shots were terrible....blurry, double-image, etc. Then I put on the 300mm lens, set my ISO at 800 and my shutter speed to 1/1250. No tripod, either. Success! (My brother-in-law has a prettier view of the moon, framed by tall pine trees behind their house, a hill in the background and no visible utility lines. Next time, I might drive to their house and shoot.)
