Musing with a Pincushion Flower

For Nancy's Tuesday Muse, I've chosen an image of a Pincushion flower (actual name is Scabiosa, which isn't terribly attractive-sounding), and added Nancy's own "Nancy" texture.

Textures on a Portrait of Kaelin

Kaelin is my 10-year-old great-niece. She's very tall for her age, a girl who loves dolls and horses, who wears cowboy boots with her shorts,  and is starting her second year in barrel racing club with other girls on horses.  I love to capture her in a pensive mood.   (Adding textures to portraits is sometimes tricky, but I think it works here.)  Linking up with Nancy's Tuesday Muse and using Nancy's textures.

In a "Fog" for Fun

Nancy of A Rural Journal has created some of her own textures, and they are right down my alley!  If I use a texture, I want it to look like a texture.   Often I'm heavy-handed, but that's just the way I am.  When Nancy made her "Fog" texture available on a recent post, I decided to play with it.   These images all feature "Fog" with Hard Light blending mode in various percentages.

Nothing Gold Can Stay --- unfortunately

At the beginning of 2011, I accepted the challenge of posting one photo each week in Darcy's P52 group.  This next week is Week 38, and I've chosen a sunflower that was peeking around the back porch, seeking some sun because I planted the seeds where the sun hits only part of the day.

She Loves You x Two

With the inspiration from Bonnie of Pixel Dust Photo Art Textures, I've been playing with Kim Klassen's "She Loves You" from her Favorites Collection.   I took both photos in Portland, Oregon last weekend.

Photo Trendsetter

I'm thrilled to be featured on Kristy's Life-n-Reflection blog today.  Using new textures from her shop, I've processed a simple photo of two young aspen trees.   Be sure to visit her blog to see how I did it, and to see Kristy's soft textures and overlays.
