It's been a very long time since I was a child, but I used to love lying on my back and looking up through the leaves of a big tree. Mid-summer and colorful fall are the best times, but doing that makes me dizzy now! Our house is blessed with two old maple trees that produce some of the largest leaves I've ever seen (one I picked yesterday measures 9 1/2 inches in width), and the colors are amazing if we have a fall that doesn't start with hard freezes.
