"60's on 6" -- a Simple Pleasure anytime

This blog post appeared a week ago, but I couldn't ever get the link to work....so I'm linking the post this week!

Riding home with my husband one night after eating out, a Simple Pleasure for Dayle's weekly challenge jumped out at me from the dash of our car.

I'm a child of the 60's...actually, it was the 50's, but in the 60's, it was college and the start of my teaching career.  I love the music of that era!  When we bought a new car a year ago, it came with a 3-month subscription to Sirius XM radio.  I soon extended that subscription, and I now have "60's on 6" tuned in almost all the time.  Now and then, I switch to the 50's station.  (Maybe Dayle listens to XM radio while wearing her warm driving gloves! )

Hi Evelyn, I think Simon and Garfunkel were great!!
I remember taking their EPs to school for Wednesday afternoon's last period. That was when the nuns let us play our music for a treat - I think that's how they kept up with the latest pop stars back then lol!
Good memories :-)
bless you..Trish

We have Sirius on our sattilite TV and my husband and I often tune in to listen. Although I was born in the late fifties and listen to 70's music a lot, my older brother was a teenager during the sixties. Love that music!

Blessings,
Joan

I think we're from the same era. I never would have guessed we'd still be listening to the same music 40 or more years later!

I'm a child of the 70s. I was born in the 60s but, a disco queen I'm ashamed to have been.

I STILL enjoy the 60s music instead, though. I would love this.

Funny thought about Dayle rocking it out to 60s music in her driving gloves.

Too cute! The 70s/80s is more my preference, but I do enjoy the 60s music on occasion, as well.... and even some 50s and earlier music. I'm just a music lover, period, and I can often be found slapping the steering wheel with my warm gloves, in perfect rhythm with the radio. ;)

Great post!

I'm a child of the 80's who was raised on 60's music. I never understood why my parents stopped listening to music once they graduated from high school. Now that I hear the current music, it's become all too clear!

I'm a HUGE fan of 60's on 6. Absolutely a simple pleasure!
