Following the barns again

It's time for Barn Charm again, that delightful opportunity to share images of barns, old and new.  As one who has been on a mission to photograph the declining barns in my area, I've collected a few images of barns that seem to be dying.   My choice today is a beautifully designed wooden barn that is no longer in use; the weather from the south has taken its toll on the back of the building. Evidently, maintenance of these all-wood barns is just too labor-intensive and costly.   It's sad.

(Below is a view of the barn from the back...or 'weather side.')

You're absolutely right, it IS very sad! The wooden barns look so much more charming & just invoke a sense of history, not to mention mystery! =)
The weathered wood on your barn post today reminds me of the one I posted a couple of weeks ago that SCREAMS tornado... even if ya'll don't get them out there! heheheee

Another fantastic addition to my Barn Charm collections... Thank you very much for posting this great find!!! =)

This has been a fantastic barn in its prime...I so love seeing it. Hate that it is falling apart.

I like the perspective of the fist but also like the sweep of the 2nd. Very nice work and I also like the detail.

I love the lighting and tones in the second photo. Thanks so much for commenting on my blog and telling me about the quonset architecture.

This was a real beauty in its time I'll bet!
It's still standing proud although a little weary.
Nice shots!

What a beautiful yet tragic barn. So sad to see it going away. Wonder what tales it has to tell.

Love the stand of Aspens in the previous post. MB

Beautiful photos of an old beauty. It is sad that all these old barns are close to falling down. Still I think they are tenacious survivors as many were built 100 years ago and some have had little maintenance done on them in all that time.

Beautiful photos Evelyn! It is sad to see these great structures in such disrepair. I think you are right - its just too costly to keep them up.
