It's Texture Tuesday in Kim Klassen's Cafe'....how do people post so quickly? Our challenge this week is to add words to our textured images.
"Subtly Yours" was my texture of choice for this photo: after some slight de-saturation, I applied "Subtly Yours" three times---twice with soft light at 100% opacity and once with multiply at 50% opacity. (I erased texture from the blossoms after each layer.) The text was added in Picnik because I can control longer quotes more easily.
The quotation is so appropriate for the many of us who have experienced a very long winter.

This is lovely!
Beautiful! I enjoy the quote and the flowers are lovely! I really like how it is almost all green and white.
Lovely, and so true.

This is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing how you used this texture. Will give this "recipe" a try as our lilacs are just starting to bloom.
I love your quote. We too have had a long winter and can appreciate these words!
Absolutely gorgeous work, Evelyn, and I love the quote!
Your editing work produced an image that conveys such warmth and beauty!
so pretty the white is still bright and the background nicely textured
Beautiful image of white lilacs! The texture work is awesome!
lovely bloom and quote. so true.
This is lovely! I think your texture work brings out the beauty of this white lilac. If we could all remember the words of Anne Bradstreet I think their would be more appreciation and less complaining. Wouldn't that be wonderful.
Happy T.T.
Peace!
I had to smile - I wonder about how others post so quickly as well. Gorgeous photo - I love the contrast of the white blooms against those beautiful greens. Your processing enhances the shot in a magical way.
I wish I had time to participate in these challenges. This is a wonderful quote and photo. The texture adds the right amount of interest. Well done!
lovely shot and words
beautiful capture of your white lilacs! such an excellent reminder as well in the quote you've chosen!
Another beauty Evelyn. The quote could not be more appropriate for Oregon this yr. We need to keep that in our minds to make it thru this wet and cold spring. This brightens the day for sure.
How pretty, Evelyn. And yes, for us who live a little further north than some, winter makes the spring that much sweeter. :)
Soft & dreamy...love it!
Very pretty image, lovely work (seen in TT)
Wonderful texture and text!!!
white lilacs! that just makes a person sigh! your photo is beautiful, and you chose the perfect words for it.
this is beautiful...and it was a loooong winter here.
What a lovely flower with its beautiful words....such a fine use of texture. The muted shades of green are wonderful as the background.
Evelyn, this is easily one of your best yet!!
So very beautifully done!

Here's another image I thought I'd commented on... I swear, I must be getting up in the middle of the night, turning on my computer, & clicking on blogs, then when I visit them the next day, they look so familiar! So weird! =)
It's very beautiful & the texture is another perfect fit! =)
