I {heart} Macro...for the first time

This delightful striped bee was feasting in/on the pollen of a hot pink gazania when I had my camera and nose down in a flower bed.  This time of year, the flowers seem tired, so there are only a few still blooming brightly.  I'm linking up with  a great macro challenge this week. (The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Insects and Spiders identifies this striped beauty as an American Hover Fly, which feeds on nectar and whose larvae are beneficial in eliminating insects that attack ornamental plants and commercial crops. The eyes should have told me!)

I have chosen this image for Week 37 of my P52 challenge, as well.

Absolutely Awesome photo! I have a few flower/bee photo's like this and I just love them. Yours has such clarity. I can almost reach out and touch that bee as it just jumps off the screen.
