Late Color

Dahlias---they are such beautiful flowers, but I don't want to mess with digging up bulbs in the fall.   So I'll enjoy others' ambition.   Someone planted dahlias in front of the post office in a neighboring town, and they are in beautiful bloom right now.   I got my flower "fix" today, so I'm linking up with  I Heart Macro  again.

I'm using this dreamy dahlia in the rain  for Week 42 of the P52 Challenge, too.

I have a passion for dahlias and this macro is out of this world. Congratulations Evelyn; this would have to be a winner in any photographic show.

Stunning! I love Dahlia's too and have some in my garden. Sometimes they actually survive winter without digging up the bulbs (which I agree is a pain). I had 2 this year that I really hope weather the winter as they were divine just like your photo.

Delicious. The deep rose centre makes it such a special image. BTW, I plant my Dahlias VERY deep, like three feet, and leave them in over the winter. So far I seem to get away with it.

My dahlias are very happy now, too. Beautiful image. I didn't know you could dig up the bulbs in the fall and keep them...hmmmm I may have to try that.
