Nancy of A Rural Journal has me hopping---with a camera, that is! She is co-hosting Rural Thursday's blog hop, and now she has revived Your Sunday Best. Not only has she revived the meme, but she has a darned cute giveaway going this week, too. Personally, I'd love to have a Rural Journal mug!
My choice this week is barbed wire....it's a favorite subject of mine. In fact, I'm thinking of making a collection of barbed wire images.....even enough to make a photo book sometime this year. One thing I know: my rural existence is the ideal location for this sharp fencing material.

that's quite a project to devote to for your end of year photo-book; a great idea to collect images throughout the year towards a target like this. A beautiful contribution too Evelyn!
Wonderful idea! Barbed wire and old wooden posts are synonymous with rural fencing.
WOW. Never saw a fence post look this beautiful! LOVEly capture, & such a good eye!
I just love the post processing! Have a great Sunday :)

Here in southeastern Arizona we have a lot of old barbed wire fences too! I love your shot, the sepia tone makes it look like an 1880s picture!
Great shot and wonderful processing.
Oh Evelyn, your fence images are always so gorgeous!
Beautiful shot!
This old wire has definitely seen some hard times, I'd say.
Great find and love the processing, Evelyn.
Thank you so much for sharing with us at Your Sunday Best. I'd forgotten how much fun it was. :)
I was looking at your photo thinking why did they waste the barbed wire by putting extra way over the post, then I realised you can climb the post hee hee, cant you tell I am not a rural person? Cant wait to see your photo book
I am always drawn to photos of barbed wire. My daughter was taken with them when she first picked up photography and has a knack for shooting it. Me, not so good at it. I'll just enjoy yours and my daughter's. :)
Lovin' this shot... the subtle almost monotone color, superb composition and the textures are so appealing to the eye!
Ooooh, nice. I like this. Great capture.
Love this photo and you have found a fantastic theme - it will be interesting to watch!
Very very nice .. I always hated the barb wire on our farm ... seems I could never climb through without snagging up!
Great photo and rendering!
This is really a wonderful photo. I love the detail and the processing. It would look fabulous in a book or on a wall. Well done.
Excellent and beautiful photography.
Regards and best wishes
