The City Magnolia Tree

In college, I called these "tulip trees," because "magnolia" was a flower I associated only with the South.  It turns out that magnolias can be grown in less-temperate climates such as NE Oregon, too. This particular one grows next to a pretty house tucked in between a mechanic shop for "foreign autos" and a used-car lot on the main street in La Grande, Oregon  Obviously, the house and tree have been there for a long time.

I'm choosing this first image for Madge's Weekly Top Shot.

I hardly recognized your blog this morning, it looks all different!
I like the pale turquoise parts for the photos which look good on the black background!
