Sweet Little Pincushion Flower
"Pincushion" sounds much better than scabiosa, although the latter is the accurate name for this delicate-but-tough flower. Personally, I love them because they last all summer long and into the late fall in my flower bed. This particular image is attractive to me because of the pattern of the wooden fence behind it.
