REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

Do I Really Want to be Here?

Our town squirrels have to travel  unorthodox routes to get from tree to tree---and that means walking the utility lines.  It's most interesting to watch them scurry high above the street; sometimes, one will slip and cling with all four feet until he/she can get upright again.  Other times, it leads to an unfortunate and fatal fall.

This is Mama Squirrel on the way to our Box Elder tree; my presence with a camera has made her pause to decide if she's going to continue.  It's 15 feet to the ground.

I don't really want to be there. I am a bit scared of heights...

But he/she's obviously very comfortable up there.

I've never seen one fall from a wire but I did see one take a pretty bad fall from a tree branch.

That's not fair that they can touch power lines and we can't, what gives!!
