Friday Finds

When I started this post, I realized that I didn't need a group of "finds."   Five was in my mind, so that's what I prepared today.  It's raining....and that's unusual for this late in June.  After all, NE Oregon is a dry climate, but on Wednesday, we had 1 3/8 inches of rain in 18 hours; today, it's raining again.    Once again, I wandered out my back door with my little compact camera because the rain isn't heavy. Here are my choices for Friday Finds:

My first ripe strawberry in the terra cotta planter.

Drenched Painted Daisies

New blossoms on the old Mock Orange shrub, which, sadly, has developed some kind of disease

Beautiful water drop

I spilled black sunflower seeds when filling bird feeders last week; they have sprouted in the rainy weather

Great back door finds, Evelyn.. especially the strawberry.. yum! The west side is rainy as well, though I think you're getting the brunt of it.
My image was taken near Boyd.. had to ask hubby for that info. He drives, I snap.. and never know just where we are.
Have a beautiful weekend, my friend.

It rained here again today too but not as hard as it did on Wednesday.
None of our strawberries have ripened yet but they will soon. Funny about the sprouting sunflower seeds.

lovely photos Evelyn and a shame about your mock-orange; such an old-fashioned shrub, I used to have one years back and the flowers are beautiful. Maybe you could start some cuttings?

I love all the wonderful shades of green in these photos. The rain makes everything feel fresh and alive again.

*sigh* Mock orange...my mother had one and their aroma is DIVINE. I'm so sorry about the disease. If it weren't for the birds and birdfeeders...I would have no sunflowers. Mine are all volunteers! Fun post!
