When Outside Photography Fails, Try Some Still Life

I drove for about 45 minutes in the countryside near my home this morning, but none of my photos were worth posting.  So I went back to some objects I had played with yesterday for some natural light still life sessions.   The orange "helicopters" from a maple tree had caught my eye during my early morning walk, but it was a couple of hours later that I drove back to the spot to pick them up.  This will be Photo #38 in the Project 52 2013 photo book.  Joining with Kent Weakley's P52 and Sweet Shot Tuesday.

The orange is so striking against the black. This will be perfect for your book. You always find a way to come through creatively with photography.

I've been thinking about some still life projects for this winter. I like the items you've arranged here.

I really like the way you compose your still life subjects! The 'helicopters' are very colorful! :)

Nicely composed! I really like the specks of color to emphasize the shot.
