Project 52 2014 #35

I am fortunate to live at the foot of the Blue Mountains in NE Oregon; we make the trip "over the mountains' fairly frequently for the purpose of shopping (or for me, photographing dogwood trees in the spring).  This past weekend, a cold front had moved through, bringing some thunderstorms and rain.  The clouds were amazing, and the sunset beautiful.   I took this photo at a "viewpoint" along the mountain highway, and I'm joining with Kent Weakley's Project 52 and Sweet Shot Tuesday.

That is a gorgeous shot! Before I read your description I knew it was in the West. Here (in Georgia) near my home is a mountain – Kennesaw Mountain, but it is small. I have looked at some of your past photos – you show some spectacular ones.
