I am definitely challenged when it comes to photographing the moon...even a "supermoon." This time, I researched what to do, what settings for my camera, etc., etc. I was behind before I started, because I forgot the moon now rises more to the south; it was already past "moon rise" when I started out. My husband drove me a little out into the country so there would be no utility wires or rooftops. My photos looked terrible when I checked them; they seemed underexposed and out-of-focus. We returned to the house in frustration, but I decided to try again. I'm still not pleased with the focus, but my 70-300mm lens has been a disappointment in that area. Here is my version of the second "supermoon" of 2014, definitely looking supernatural because of the massive wildfires in this part of the country.

Was für ein beeindruckendes Foto !
the colour is fantastic Evelyn; don't give up, it's an amazing challenge for a lens to reach that far
I feel the same way...but that is a lovely capture, for sure!
Beautiful shot, love the orange glow to it

Wow! You got an impressive photo! You would really laugh at my tries. I failed totally. The orange glow is a bonus in your image, too.
Please share this beautiful capture at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2014/08/frooms-with-linky.html
This is magnificent, Evelyn!
This is magnificent, Evelyn!
I think you did well... too bad it takes devastating fires to give the gorgeous 'red' color...
It's beautiful.
Evelyn, I think it is beautiful! It looks like fire. We couldn't see it all here because of rain :( Thank you for sharing it!!!
This is definitely a magnificent moon shot Evelyn. Wonderful colors and features present. I had the 50mm lens on my camera at the time, so my moon shot looks like a button in the sky.
