REDISCOVERING MYSELF THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

"Home" from a northern viewpoint

I live in a valley...Indian Valley.  I'm not sure of the length or width, but the northern edge is bordered by mountains while the southern edge is a ridge of hills serving as a border between this valley and the huge Grande Ronde Valley.  A recent morning drive allowed me time to photograph some of the scenery "out north," which is the term we tend to use.

Indian Valley from the north end.  Our little town of Elgin is located more to the south and the Grande Ronde River can be traced by the line of trees; the highway crosses the river three times within a 5-mile distance.

My favorite grove of aspens, which I photograph several times each year and each season.

People often think these are birch trees because of their white bark, but those who know aspens recognize that feature.
