The Fleeting Season of the Peony

This year, my peonies were amazing...but they usually are.  It's a flower my siblings and I learned to love by way of our mother.  When she passed away at 94, her peony garden had probably 200+ plants over an expanse of property that stretched into what was once a pasture for cattle.  Now, 4 of her 5 children share some of her peonies and have added others of our own purchases.  (Next year, I will have more than 60 plants)

We have a family text, which is used to share images of the peonies we have blooming.

As for me, I love to photograph the peonies and play with editing.  And I'm sad when the short season of the peony is over.
