Lonely Barn

It has become great fun scouting out barns near where I live. For this week's Barn Charm on Tricia's wonderful blog, I've chosen a barn outside of La Grande, Oregon that I've photographed in previous years, too.  I visited it again a couple of days ago, and it still sits all alone in a field.   It seems kind of strange for a structure like this to be away from any other buildings.  Possibly, there were once other farm buildings nearby.  There is one piece of equipment inside--a tank sprayer-- but no other sign of life or use.

It's a fine old barn that deserves capture in a picture. I like its wide entrance and the airy condition of the far side's roof. It has excellent textured wood too. A fine post.

It looks like it wouldn't take much to restore her beauty.

Beautiful photo! Even though there are many gaps in its roof it still sits straight and strong.

With those big ol holes in the roof & the moss taking over, I'm not surprised it isn't in use, anymore... but she's a beauty, anyway! =)
That's a great texture, too...
Thank you so very much for joining, Evelyn... very much appreciated! =)

Awesome image. That barn is so unique with that overhang part in the front. Great edit!

Trying to post a comment...I keep my third party cookies turned off and for some reason this kind of comment form requires they be turned on...

Anyway, I love this...love the background and would like to see more. Also, love barns like this but always think a home belongs with them.

Love that texture of the back wall with the light shining through.

Thanks for visiting my photo blog. Yes, that is a walking bridge. It's actually part of a two lane road that spans a four lane railroad track.

I did take place in Barn Charm as well. Here is my link;
